The spaces in more detail: Balmory Stables, a 19th century stable conversion, a historic property tucked away on the edge of the quaint hamlet of Ascog, on the east coast of the Isle of Bute. The property is divided into two separate properties in the form of a south wing and a north wing, having been built in 1861 which has recently been completely and lovingly refurbished to a very high standard.
The accommodation is laid out in such a way to allow you to enjoy the privacy and tranquillity from both inside and outside of the property enabling our guests to experience a relaxing and comfortable stay. The property has an open plan layout and is comfortably furnished and boasts a modern log burner and a 50” smart TV.
The kitchen has everything you need to prepare extensive meals, with an induction hob, a fan oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, Tassimo coffee maker and a whole range of kitchen utensils. The cottage has two large double bedrooms overlooking the courtyard garden and the property can comfortably sleep four guests. Bedroom 1 has a super king-size bed and a decorative Victorian fireplace.
Adjacent is the ensuite shower room, with walk-in shower, w.c. and basin. Bedroom 2 comprises two twin beds that can easily be transformed to a super kingsize. Opposite you will find the family bathroom with bath, walk-in shower, w.c. and basin. The utility cupboard in the hallway contains both the washing machine and tumble dryer, which you are welcome to use during your stay.
Outside there is ample parking space for two cars as well as a bike shed. From the private parking a pathway leads along the fenced garden to the front door of the property. The garden is made up of mostly grass and being south facing and sheltered by mature beech hedges it is a comfortable sun trap with lovely views over the rolling countryside towards Scoulag Moor. There is a small stream adjacent to the garden and although the whole garden is fenced and gated, you should not leave children and dogs unattended.
