☹Feel after a few years away from melfort pier it is starting to tire a bit lovely and clean but greenery needing cut back,, pillows and towels thin for the money paid hopefully standard won’t slip too muchPosted on Booking

Shannon9 October 2026Truly superb ☺To begin with - Hazel was an absolute pleasure to meet!! Salt of the earth and a wonderful host. Really set the standard for the rest of the stay! We stayed in the Skipper garden suite and absolutely adored the beautiful 90 degree panoramic window view of Fearnach bay/Loch Melfort. The log burner was a gem of an addition - logs kept the suite warm and cosy while the dreich but beautiful Scottish weather prevailed. The suite was absolutely spotless and we had the best night sleep. Cannot wait to visit again and explore more of the beautiful Kilmelford - which was a serene drive may I add. ☹Heehaw! The garden, beach and mountain views were stunning, and the location was calm, peaceful and perfect for a relaxing stay. ☹The nearest Tesco or Aldi is around 30 minutes away, and although home delivery was advertised, there were no delivery slots available during our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but they felt a little enclosed and became quite warm at night, even with the cooler autumn weather outside.Posted on Airbnb

Hazel was so friendly and polite and an absolute joy to stay with. We originally planned to only stay for 2nights but within minutes of arriving decided we wanted to stay longer, contacted Hazel who immediately arranged for the extra days for us :) 1000000% recommend Melfort Pier & Harbour to anyone looking for a break to blow the cobwebs away or even just for the scenic views :) we will be back again!! From the moment I arrived, everything was perfect.Rhona was an amazing host — extremely helpful, friendly, and always quick to respond to any questions or requests. Her communication and attention to detail made the whole stay feel effortless and comfortable.The property itself was spotlessly clean, private, peaceful, and beautifully located, with absolutely stunning views. It was the perfect place to disconnect from the busy world, relax, and enjoy the incredible natural surroundings.I genuinely had one of the most peaceful and memorable holidays here. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is beautiful, intimate and relaxing. The accommodation is ideal but does show signs wear and tear which will require updating in within the next few seasons. Overall we felt is was good value for money.Posted on Vrbo.com

Although the drive down the track with passing places to the flat was a little causious in places the flat was comfortable.I feel it needs a little modernisation.The spa bath needs a really good clean with a descaler as the jets kicked out alot of scale and random hair.The second bathroom is much better as a shower, very powerful, water is hot and plentiful.There is a stair lift and steam room.We visited oban, mull and Iona and also the village shop and lucys (excellant cakes.) Inverary and loch fyne oystersYou do need to take all supplys as the nearest shop is 1/2 an hour away.Tea, coffee and sugar sachets are supplied with some oat milk.More cutlery is definatley needed.We have done argylle and bute enough now, so we would not return.Enjoy the Duck convoy of an evening it was very entertaining.Posted on Vrbo.com

We were blessed with beautiful weather and enjoyed sipping our morning coffee looking out over the water.The property was very quiet. There was a couple staying in the apartment below us, but we never heard them. It felt like we had the place entirely to ourselves.The property was well equipped and the Sauna was the best part. Very much enjoyed sitting and relaxing after a long day in Oban.There is a nice restaurant called the gunpowder cafe that just a 20 minute walk away thru very quiet roads.Communication with Hazel our host was excellent.This was the perfect home base for exploring Oban and the surrounding area.Posted on Vrbo.comDanielle P.1 June 2025Relaxing break Great apartment with everything you need. Found used bottle of deodorant and a teeth retainer and lots of floor tiles are cracked which also didn’t help the first impression. Property needs a make over as a bit tired. "‘On Tranquil Shores’ certainly encapsulates our experience of this beautifully renovated cottage and its soul-restoring location. We have stayed in very many holiday houses over the years and this was assuredly amongst the best. The design of the cosy, and spotlessly clean, cottage is perfect for capturing the magnificent views whilst the comfortable furnishings ensured our complete relaxation.
The large private grounds made our dog very happy, as it did us whilst watching and listening to a host of birdlife and the lapping of the waves along the beautiful pebble shore. In sum, a 4 day stay was simply not enough and we fully intend to return to this idyllic cottage which provides a perfect, unforgettable base for anyone wishing to be immersed in the awe-inspiring nature, landscape and history of the enchanting island of Eday. Thank you very much, Mark and Rhona, for all your kindness and support."

"This property really is something else. We were only here for a weekend visit but will definitely return in future. The property was spotless and the views were absolutely outstanding. Kids loved the table football whilst the adults played darts."

"Bella vista- name is spot on! Gorgeous views. Beds really comfortable. We were also very lucky with the weather which meant dawn and dusk were spectacular.
